Pennsylvania Water Discharge Data — Searchable and Tracked
Facilities across Pennsylvania report what they discharge into rivers, streams, and waterways under NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) permits. We make those public records searchable and show when reported values exceed permit limits — known as exceedances. Subscribe to email digests for specific facilities, counties, or parameters.

Standard coverage includes Pennsylvania monitoring periods from the most recent 5.5 years — currently January 2021 through June 2026. Older records are retained but not shown by default.
How It Works
Facilities with NPDES permits are required to self-report discharge monitoring data to their permitting authority, which reports it to EPA. When a reported value exceeds the numeric limit in a facility's permit, that's an exceedance. Permit Minder compiles these public records into a searchable database so anyone can find exceedances without digging through state reporting systems.
Search
Search NPDES-permitted facilities by permit number, facility name, Pennsylvania county, or discharge parameter. Facility name and county come from the EPA facility bundle; where a permit is absent from it, both are shown blank. Receiving stream and facility type are not available for records collected from the EPA feed.
Review
See reported discharge values alongside permit limits, with percentage-over-limit calculations for each monitoring period.
