Data Corrections

Permit Minder is independently operated and is not affiliated with PA DEP, EPA, or any government agency.

Permit Minder reports values as self-reported by facilities to their permitting authority and published by EPA through ICIS-NPDES. We do not modify, interpret, or recharacterize source data.

If you believe a value is misattributed

Email hello@permitminder.com with the subject line “Data Correction Request” and include:

  • Permit number
  • Parameter name
  • Monitoring period
  • The value you believe is incorrect
  • The correct value with supporting documentation (e.g., amended DMR, or a confirmation letter from the permitting authority)

What happens next

  • We aim to acknowledge your request within 3 business days
  • We endeavor to complete a review against source data (EPA ECHO / ICIS-NPDES) within 10 business days
  • If confirmed inaccurate: we aim to correct or flag the data within 5 business days of confirmation
  • If source data supports the displayed value: response explaining the finding with a link to the source record

Response times may vary based on volume.

If the underlying DMR record is incorrect

Corrections to the source record must be made by the reporting facility through its permitting authority. Permit Minder will reflect a superseding submission on a subsequent collection cycle after it appears in EPA's published data. The timing of that appearance is controlled by the permitting authority and EPA, not by Permit Minder. EPA's public record for a permit is available through echo.epa.gov.
